Classical Civilisation is an exploration into the culture, society, literature and history of Ancient Greece and Rome. It offers the opportunity to read and discuss some of the most famous source material that influences society today. Opinions and the ability to convey them in class and on paper are essential.
Opportunities for visits abroad and trips to sites or museums and seminars, exist throughout the course.
Topics will include:
Students complete 2 modules for AS level and 2 for A2.
AS-level and A-level
An interest in the Ancient World and two GCSEs at Grade B or better in either Classics, English, History and Religious Education.
Applicants should note that classical languages are not necessary, nor will they be studied at any point.
