After a number of years working together, the Ursuline High School and Wimbledon College Consortium Sixth Form has now become firmly and successfully established. We have worked together very closely for more than 20 years.
As there is both 'sameness' and a 'difference' about every Christian so there is a 'sameness' and 'difference' between our Catholic schools. Bishop Konstant reminds us of this in his address to Catholic teachers in 1990.
"The sameness lies in the mission that all Christians share in virtue of our Baptism, the mission given to the first disciples of Christ to us all".
"Go therefore, make disciples of all the nations, baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teach them to observe all the commandments I gave you."
The difference lies in our individuality, each of us has a different personal part in the mission. There is no identikit Christian and of course there is no identikit teacher, we share the same mission but have individual contributions to make to it. That’s part of it’s richness.
The Sixth Form continues to develop through the contribution of staff and students from both schools. We draw on the richness and vision which lie in both schools to form an environment for young adults based on Christian values and teaching.
